     Application for the CCE Process or Membership

    You must complete this application and it must be approved before you can receive the CCE or before you can join the ISFCE.  You may not start the CCE process before submitting the Code of Ethics and Professional Responsibility form application and this application.   We will not begin processing the application until the appropriate fee has been paid.

    Experience or Training Requirements  

    The applicant must have successfully completed training or have at least 18 months responsible experience actually conducting forensic computer examinations or certify that he or she has conducted self study in forensic computer examinations.  The training must be documented training, the experience must be documented and verifiable or the self study must documented.  

    You must have the required experience, training or self study.  A waiver of training or experience can be granted by the certifying board for self study.

    Criminal Record
     
    The applicant must not have a criminal record.  The criminal record requirement is for 2 reasons.  We will not certify anyone with certain types of criminal records (defined below).  Furthermore, an examiner with a criminal record may cause credibility problems when testifying in court.  It would be a disservice to an examiner, with a criminal record, to grant the CCE.

    Criminal record defined:

      A conviction within or outside the United States of any sexually related offense or crime of moral turpitude.

      A conviction within or outside the United States of any crime that is classified as a felony or where the penalty could have been more than 1 year's imprisonment.  Even if no sentence was received, the possible maximum sentence in the jurisdiction where the conviction occurred, is the deciding factor.  

      Been the subject of a restraining order or similar court order for domestic battery, sexual offenses or assault.

      Any conviction for sexual battery or similar sexual offense where the sentence could have been less than 1 year's imprisonment.
       

    The CCE certified individual must abide by the testing, continuing education or experience requirements as published on this web site in order to maintain the CCE.  

    The CCE certified individual must strictly adhere to the Code of Ethics and Professional Responsibility as currently published and must adhere to any later revisions to this Code.  

    The CCE certified individual must not be convicted of a criminal offense, as defined on this web site, after receiving certification.
